Who Are We Looking For

Board directors should be engaged and passionate about the organization mission. They should be ready to actively participate in the advancement of the organization (on average volunteering 5 to 10 hours/month above and beyond any other volunteer work they perform for CTDS, such as Therapy Dog visits).  Knowledge of, or experience on, not-for-profit Boards is an asset, but nor a requirement.  Orientation will be provided for new Board members following their election.

Who Is Eligible

  • A person elected becomes a Director if they were present at the meeting when being elected and did not refuse the election. They may also become a Director if they were not present at the meeting but consented in writing to act as Director before the election, or within ten days after the election, or if they acted as a Director pursuant to the election.

  • Any Director will serve for a term of two years, at the end of which he/she can, if they so desire, put their name forward to stand for another two-year term.

  • Any Active Member of the Society may nominate an individual for a Board position.  You may nominate yourself or another person with their prior consent. A nominee does not have to be a current member of CTDS.

To put your name forward or to nominate someone (with their knowledge), complete and return the nomination form to BoardSecretary@ctds.ca no later than 6pm on Wednesday, April 2nd, 2025

For more information, or to register for the virtual connection to the meeting, contact the CTDS Board Secretary at BoardSecretary@ctds.ca
