Recognition Titles for Therapy Dogs

CTDS now has an agreement with CKC to offer 

THERAPY DOG TITLES

Applicants for the titles must be CTDS members and volunteers.

To be eligible for a Canadian Kennel Club Title Recognition and Certificate, the following is required:

  • Canadian Kennel Club Therapy Dog Title Application form with the fee of $20.00 plus applicable taxes.

  • CKC Registration Number or a Performance Event Number (PEN), a Canine Companion Number (CCN), a Miscellaneous Certification Number (MCN) or an Event Registration Number (ERN).

  • CKC Therapy Dog Record of Visits Form or equivalent form from the Therapy Dog Organization. 

The following Canadian Kennel Club Recognition Titles are available for Therapy Dogs:

  • Therapy Dog Novice (THDN) - with the completion of 10 visits

  • Therapy Dog (THD) - with the completion of 50 Visits

  • Therapy Dog Advanced (THDA) - with the completion of 100 Visits

  • Therapy Dog Excellent (THDX) - with the completion of 200 Visits

  • Therapy Dog Distinguished (THDD) - with the completion of 500 Visits
